Temple Cloud Lotus originally named Pink Lotus & Sustainable Health is a holistic wellness orginisation that was established in 2002. Since then, the organisation has always been using its earnings from festivals and events to support a non-profit community enterprise in Temple Cloud. In 2022, the company was awarded several different types of funding, including funding from SSE, which helped them to set up Temple Cloud Circus Community Interest Company. The company’s mission is to offer holistic creative aerial circus experiences, natural sustainable regenerative treatments, education, and healing solutions to everyone including special support for underprivileged, homeless, or traumatised members of our communities. The company offers a wide range of services, including organic self care products, clothing, jewellery, trapeze boots, festival healing spaces, aerial circus classes, and training programs.
Job Description: Festival Massage Therapist / Wellbeing Specialist
We are seeking talented and passionate massage therapists to join our team and provide high-quality massage services at outdoor events & festivals. As a festival massage therapist(wellbeing specialist), you will work in beautiful yurts, offering a range of relaxing massage treatments to festival-goers. We provide luxury yurt with a massage table, towels, organic oils, couch roll, and reception.
Responsibilities:
Provide exceptional customer service to create a positive experience for clients, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and care.
Perform a variety of massage treatments, with expertise in massage therapy, and a willingness to learn other specialized treatments offered by the company, such as Aromatherapy Massage, Indian Head Massage, Raindrop Therapy Massage, Acupressure Massage, Deep Tension Relief Massage, Vita Flex Foot Massage (similar to Reflexology), Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine, and Energy Healing Massage.
Maintain the massage yurt in immaculate condition, creating a tranquil and welcoming environment for clients to unwind and relax.
Adhere to strict sanitation protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of clients, implementing industry best practices for hygiene and cleanliness.
Assist with appointment scheduling and manage client records with accuracy and attention to detail, helping to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Requirements:
The candidate must either have at least 5 years of experience as a qualified and insured massage therapist or be recently qualified and willing to embrace the opportunity to gain experience through training.
Must have excellent communication and customer service skills.
Must be able to work in an outdoor environment and comfortable working in a yurt.
Must be able to work on weekends and holidays during the festival season
The successful candidate will be required to pay a deposit equivalent to a festival ticket, which is an industry-standard protocol to ensure their commitment to the event.
Experience in any of the listed treatments is a plus but not required as we can offer training.

General Details
With all the large-scale festival options you must arrive onsite no later than 7 pm Wednesday (any later and you could be locked in a festival compound overnight) please note arrival times for Glastonbury you must arrive Tuesday night, and for Temple Cloud Festival you need to confirm. For Our June circus show event you need to arrive the night before you start work.
This is based on a 4-day work week Thursday – Sunday. Contracts are taken on a subcontracted basis. Participants must travel to the work site no later than Wednesday afternoon. Massage therapists are either paid for massage hours that are completed or they are paid a fixed amount for the week’s contract, details of the different payment options are below.
Working Times are as follows.
Midday to 8 pm Thursday with 2x30min breaks
9 am-6 pm Friday To Sunday with 2 x 30min breaks each day.
Generally, we are working to a 30hr week.
Renumeration:
Option 1 – Self Employment. (no travel or food)
Under 5 years Experience £15 Per hour
Over 5 Years Experience £20 per hour
OPTION 2 – PAYE
You will receive a fixed payment of £370 per week for 30 work hours. Under PAYE (Pay As You Earn, which means our account will deduct your tax prior to us paying you), Travel expenses up to £50 in total (NO TAXI’s), along with a food allowance of £10 per meal for two meals per day from Friday to Sunday only. Receipts are necessary for reimbursement.
Option 3 – PAYE (Under 2 Years)Fixed payment of £250 for 20 hours of actual massage work. With this option, we are unable to cover any additional expenses.
New therapists who find it challenging to manage longer hours will have the option to switch to this plan.
